Mee-Krah is a titanic entity that awakens every millennium to feed on the energies of ghosts. As it feeds, its heat level rises, and eventually it creates deserts in its wake- the Sahara, the Gobi, and Death Valley were all created by Mee-Krah.
When it awoke in the 1980s and sought out the Ghostbusters' containment unit, it was destroyed thanks to Peter Venkman's accidentally invented ectoplasmic energy capacitor.
