Biography
Moridun
At some point in his tenure as Sorcerer Supreme, Moridun found the time-displaced Carlo Zota of the Eighth Cosmos and turned him into his slave, teaching him a variety of things, including magic. (Defenders v6 #3) Later, he witnessed the arrival of the Defenders, who also hailed from the Eighth Cosmos. They accidentally ended up in the Fifth Cosmos after going back in time to defeat Zota in the Sixth. (Defenders v6 #2) Fearing the potential of the Defenders as a living spell, Moridun tried to enslave them. However, Doctor Strange redirected all of his magic to Harpy, causing her to summon a Green Door on top of Moridun, thus banishing him from there and thwarting his plan. Despite that, the alien wizard managed to eventually make his way back. (Defenders v6 #3) After the Fifth Cosmos ceased to be, Moridun became Omnimax and entered the Sixth Cosmos as prophesied. He attacked Taa alongside his herald, Carlo Zota, but his attempt to devour the planet failed due to the Defenders' interference, forcing him to retreat. He also lost his herald in the process, as Zota fell into the timestream and ended up in the Fifth Cosmos, where Moridun's past self found him. (Defenders v6 #2)
Following the destruction and rebirth of the Multiverse from the Seventh Cosmos to the Eighth, Moridun's spirit was summoned by the Maker Reed Richards, who was investigating the previous iterations of reality. Moridun vanished when the New Avengers disrupted the ritual being used to summon him, but the dark wizard remained on Prime Earth, unbeknownst to Richards. (New Avengers v4 #2) As part of his plan to possess the powerful young hero Wiccan, Moridun used some information he had acquired from the Maker's mind about a prophecy followed by the Knights of the Infinite. (New Avengers v4 #4) In this time, the evil alien wizard came to kill the elderly Knight known as M'ryn. (New Avengers v4 #3) Afterwards, he would begin to use his corpse as a vessel, attacking and absorbing the souls of other Knights. (New Avengers v4 #4)
