Slagon
Slagon was a bio-transmuter living in the Swamps of Miregone. He was a short, potbellied man with pointed, elfin ears, a thin black beard, a wore a magnifying device over his left eye. Although he claimed several times that all of the surgically-induced mutants in his laboratory were animals he'd saved from the brink of death through bio-transmutation, in truth he actually experimented on healthy animals for monetary gain.
Slagon approached Ren, Ioz, Tula and Niddler shortly after their arrival in Miregone and their first encounter with the Gallquin while trying to get the Fifth Treasure of Rule, and told them that in order to kill the Gallquin they needed the rare Loac Flower. However, he also warned them that to traverse the swamps without a proper guide would be unwise, and offered to sell them his bio-guide, Roulette, one of the many sentient swamp creatures he'd cruelly, and needlessly, bio-transmuted, for a rather outlandish sum (two-hundred glawns, which Ioz deemed "piracy").
A short time later though, Slagon happened upon Bloth, Konk and Mantus, also trying to get the Fifth Treasure of Rule, and made a similar deal with them. In exchange for three-hundred glawns (which, like Ioz, Bloth said was "piracy"), he would steal the Loac Flower from Ren with the help of his robot bird, Hawk-Knife. However, although he did manage to steal the Loac, the evil bio-transmuter was no match for Tula's ecomantic powers and Ioz's swordsmanship, and the flower was stolen back from him. Making the mistake of returning to Bloth, he was quickly taken prisoner by the pirate lord and made to be the Maelstrom's new dishwasher.
