Overview

Zoid Cores were the fundamental power source for all Zoids. The techno-organic core that a Zoid is essentially formed around serves as its heart. Varying in appearance, the Zoid Core is not homogeneous for all Zoids.

Known version of Zoids included:

  • Ankyrox :
  • Aquadon : created by the Helic Republic, it was the first Zoid specifically designed for aquatic combat. A relatively simple design, the Aquadon was nonetheless revolutionary for its time. The Aquadon was one of the earliest Zoids, introduced somewhere around ZAC 1930. While its weapons were initially adequate against the first generation of Zoids, it was rendered obsolete with the arrival of newer designs; the Zoid was completely outclassed by the Zenebas Sinker once it entered the war. Both it and the Furolesios were largely retired by the mid ZAC 2030s, replaced with the far more capable Barigator.
  • Arosaurer : created by the Helic Republic, they were based on the smaller Godos with the Arosaurer was developed as an alternative to the Command Wolf. While slower than the Command Wolf, the Zoid was far more heavily armored and, because of its bipedal design, more agile and more capable in close combat.
  • Bamburian : a compact Zoid resembling a giant panda. Armed with a set of curved blades on either shoulder, it has excellent turning capabilities. It also carries a set of multi-purpose rockets resembling bamboo shoots on its back. These can be fired to create a smokescreen, or a set of projectiles that release glowing, crystal-like shards that impale attacking Zoids.
  • Barigator : a Crocodile-type Zoid used by the Helic Republic. The Zoid is amphibious, and performs well in swamps, marshes, and shallow aquatic environments. It can be used elsewhere, but a lack of flat ground will restrict the low-slung Zoid. Relatively slow on land, the Barigator is rather well armored for its size. Its powerful fangs are capable of crushing similarly sized Zoids in a single blow; a favored tactic is for the Zoid to remain hidden, then strike at an unsuspecting opponent. The Zoid does have one glaring weakness, however: when its jaws are open, the cockpit is completely open and exposed to the outside. The pilot sits in the rear portion of the bottom jaw, and the cockpit cover is attached to the top jaw; when the Bite Fangs are used, the entire canopy is basically lifted off of the pilot with the rest of the jaw. When a Barigator attempts to attack an enemy with its Bite Fangs, there is a chance the pilot can be hit by fragments flung from the bite wound, well-aimed shots, or even crushed if the Barigator makes too deep of a bite.
  • Command Wolf : the RZ-009 was a Wolf-type of Zoid, one of over 200 mechanical lifeforms that was a fast and agile medium-sized Zoid. Its speed gives it a great deal of flexibility, allowing it to perform various roles. Command Wolves have been used in strike, recon, and assault operations, amongst others. Its back-mounted weapon turret has its own cockpit, resulting in the Wolf's capability of being manned by two pilots - one to maneuver the Zoid itself and the other to control the cannons - though the Command Wolf is more than capable of being used by a single pilot since the turret can be controlled from inside the main cockpit. The turret can also be detached and act as a separate recon platform, further expanding the Zoid's capabilities.
  • Fang Tiger : a Smilodon-Type Zoid that was a medium Zoid with an open-air cockpit. Compared to other Zoids in the Zoids: Wild series, it is an M-sized Zoid.
  • Gatling Fox : a Fox-type Zoid that was a medium Zoid with an open-air cockpit. Compared to other Zoids in the Zoids: Wild series, it is an M-sized Zoid.
