History

The AI War was a conflict that encompassed Earth in the 21st century. It began after mankind developed a series of advanced robots known as the Siliciates that were manufactured to be servants and soldiers. These machines had a learnt intelligence but were unable to various concepts making them subservient to humanity. This changed in the year 2047 when a programming genius by the name of Ken Stranahan grew tired of his employers at Silicatetronics gaining the credit for his work. Thus, during upgrades of the essential AI processing unit, he inserted a virus into the programming of the robots which told them to "Take a Chance". As a result, the Siliciates turned against their creators triggering a series of conflicts that erupted over the planets. The machines made use of fear, intimidation and ruthlessness as whilst they did not feel emotions they understood their effectiveness against humans. For ten years, they operated as terrorists on Earth until mankind gained an upper hand against them. In response, Earth developed artificially grown humans known as InVitroes that were bred to fight against the AIs. It was at that point that the Silicates gambled where they commandeered military vehicles and departed into space. In the aftermath, the InVitro platoons were dissolved and moved to join human society. (Episode: The Farthest Man from Home)
