Abraham Setrakian is a male character who features in The Strain.

Biography

Abraham Setrakian was a male human who was born in Armenia but was raised primarily in Romania. As a child, his grandmother told him stories about the Strigoi and specifically of the legend of Jusef Sardu. This included him the giant Polish nobleman was turned into a vampire during a hunting trip with his brother. By World War II, Abrahamw as eighteen years old when his family were driven from their homes by Germans when the Nazi's established the Treblinka extermination camp in occupied Poland.

Personality and attributes

Eichhorst would disparage him by referring to him as 'the Jew'.

When he was young, he was raised on stories by his bubbeh (grandmother) who told him about the legends of the Strigoi.

Prior to killing a vampire, he spoke these words in Romanian, "Strigoi, my sword sings of silver."

Powers and abilities

He wielded a silver sword but by his later years his hands were nearly crippled from his first encounter with the Master. This led to him crating a blade with a unique design that allowed him to handle it by wrap around his forearm to support his grip.

Notes

  • Abraham Setrakian was created by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan where he featured in the setting of The Strain.
  • The characters death differed between the novel and television incarnations where he was killed by the Master in the former whilst in the latter he died whilst killing Eichhorst.
