History

Alayashiki was a business that operated in Japan by the modern age. Around a decade ago, their research facility was hit by a terrorist bomb thus releasing a certain virus into the world. The virus infected parts of the brain and spread through the population with this large-scale bio-hazard having a unique effect. It resulted in a large number of the population developing the ability to see Phantoms. Phantoms had long existed in the world but were imperceptible to mankind except to animals or young children. Alayashiki became a dedicated force in the study of Phantoms and their effects on humans.

The company began a period of covertly gathering intelligence of all the people with Phantom abilities such as the students of Hosea Academy. In secret, they were also responsible for secretly conducting research on Phantoms who were experimented on as test subjects. This involved merging the entities with Human DNA in the effort to create more evolved creatures for use in various roles such as labour, living weapons and for further experimentations. There was no laws that protected the existence of Phantoms with Alayashiki able to conduct such acts without breaking any rules though these projects were done in secret. One of their projects involved experimentation on a Phantom that was successfully merged with human DNA with the specimen becoming known as Enigma who managed to escape the research facility. Alayashiki hid any existence of the project to prevent anyone from the public from learning of their experiments.
