The American Hunters Association (A.H.A.)
It was said to had existed in one form or another for many hundreds of years.
Overview
In appearance, the American hunters Association was a secretive organization devoted to studying and killing the monsters that stalk the bayou. Not only were they dedicated to combating monsters and demons but to keeping the existence of these creatures secret to the outside world.
It was known that they hired human hunters to go into the affected areas of the bayou, track down the dangerous monsters therein, kill them, then banish them back to Hell.

- Philip Huff Jones : Director and Superintendent of the Louisiana Asylum at Jackson. He was killed by The Twins, and was either shot from outside the hospital, or was stabbed inside the room by Lynch.

- Ada Ruth Shell : a hunter within the AHA who told a firsthand account of her dealings with the transformation of a child. She had four siblings named Edward, Henry, Grace, and Samuel with her also having given birth to a bizarre baby.
- Nadine Orville : the Night Acolyte was a member of the doomsday cult called the Night of the Hunter and served as founder Isaac Powell's right-hand fighter. An orphan with nothing to lose, she's a brute in a fight, made all the more frightening by the occult symbols drawn on her clothing in the blood of her victims.

- Ishim Gird : the Reverend Ishim Gird was a young man when he came to the bayou to save the souls of the innocents. As the infection took hold, he witnessed his congregation tear each other apart in Healing-Waters Church. Barely escaping with his life, he vowed to rid the swamp of it's denizens.
- Isaac Powell :
- John : born in Senegal and brought to New Orleans as a slave, Doctor John was eventually freed and rose to prominence in the New Orleans Voodoo community, founding a chapter of Hunters with his most loyal followers as he became known as the Bone Doctor. His ability to heal led to suspicions that he had caused the very plague he fought, though none who spoke against him survived for long.
