Amon was a member of the ancient cosmic race of beings that were known as the Xel'Naga.

Powers and abilities

At his command were a wide range of servants and entities that enacted his will. The first were fallen Xel'Naga and similar creatures that operated as his direct servants. These ensured his plans to be reborn and aid in bringing about his goals for the universe. They were responsible for helping him breed his Hybrids who were considered his greatest servants that were corrupted versions of the Xel'Naga. Beyond them, a tribe of Protoss known as the Tal'darim operated as his disciples who viewed him as a god and were promised that their reward was to ascend to become Hybrids. The Aiur branch of the Protoss were also vulnerable to Amon's influence as he could hijack their bodies through the Khala that linked them together. With the psionic link, he could forcibly took over their minds and they became extensions of Amon's will. Through his power, he was also able to dominate the minds of directionless Zerg broods which he used among his forces. Finally, through Narud, he maintained controlled over the Moebius Corps that were fanatical human servants that controlled the breeding facilities to create the Hybrids.
