Andy (Undead Unluck)

Andy is a male anime and manga character who features in Undead Unluck.

Biography

Origin

Victor (Japanese: ヴィクトル, Hepburn: Vikutoru?)

During a battle in a desert town circa 1820, after finding Remember, Victor tried to kill Juiz, hoping that she would be free from fighting in the next loop having given up on defeating God. Juiz used Unjustice to force Victor to retrain himself despite it not working before as per Victor's sense of justice. While restrained, Victor pleaded with Juiz that she should be free but she doesn't listen and forces Remember into his head, commanding the artifact to erase all of Victor's memories, rendering him unconscious. Victor, thought to be dead, was buried along with the fallen soldiers. Some time later, Andy, a second identity, emerged from the ground without any memories of who he was and based on where he was buried assumed he was a former soldier, forming a gang until discovering his power. Juiz theorizes that Andy himself is a product of Undead: Being rendered permanently unconscious without memories was close enough to death that it could be negated; since it could not undo Remember's effect, the negation instead created a second identity that could continue to live. He roamed around for decades, lamenting his inability to die or even age but being forced to watch his friends die, leading to seeking some way to die. Circa 1970, he is captured by the Union, as he was unable to overcome Gina's Unchange. He spent ten years imprisoned and was experimented on by Nico. During this time, Gina fell in love with him as she hated change, and the greatest change would be dying and aging. He managed to escape and kept a low profile for the next forty years to avoid getting recaptured.

Undead Unluck

In 2020, Andy meets a girl, Fuuko Izumo, who claims that touching her you will get a disease and die. As he touches her, he gets into an accident and dies. Since he is Undead, he regenerates back and makes Fuuko explain her ability. Fuuko explains that anyone who touches her, or she touches him gets her "unluck" and dies soon after. Realizing she may be the key to his permanent death, he takes her to his hideout to test her ability and how to cause bigger unluck. In the hideout after some tests, Fuuko tries to run, but her jacket gets caught and her long hair is revealed. Andy then gives her a haircut, but as he was distracted, The Union arrives cutting his head and capturing him. Soon the unluck for touching her while giving her the haircut activates and lighting strikes Andy and frees him. Andy then kills all the members except the one holding Fuuko and gives his head in order to keep Fuuko safe. But as he throws his head, Fuuko frees herself and gives him a kiss. Realizing a big unluck is coming, Andy holds the Union member until Fuuko escapes as a meteorite comes hitting the building, completely destroying it. Andy comes out of the rubble, thinking that if they bang even a bigger unluck could occur, but Fuuko tells him that if he forces her, she will hate him and her 'likability' was a factor in her bigger unluck.

Andy then decides to protect her until she likes him enough to give him a bigger unluck and decides they run, knowing the Union will keep chasing them. As they ran, two Union members arrive, Shen and Void. Shen instantly captures Fuuko, while Void momentously attacks Andy. Andy tries to fight back, but Void stops his movement each time before he hits him and then gets easily hit by Void. Fuuko suggests they join Union as according to Shen, they would not be hunted anymore and Andy likes the idea, but as there are only 10 seats, they need first to kill two numbered members. When Void turns his eyes on Fuuko, Andy comes to save her, touching her and causing an unluck to occur, but Void comes out the of truck explosion unscathed, while also protecting Shen. Their fight moves into a building that got demolished. Void comes out of the rubble and sees Andy's hand. As he thought he captured him, Andy appears behind him ready to fire his finger. Andy had figured Void's ability and knew he can stop his muscles but can't stop his regeneration once started and shoots Void in the head. Andy then turns his eyes on Shen and starts fighting him, but Shen easily blocks each of his attacks. Fuuko then came giving Andy his sword, but as Andy hesitates for a moment to kill Shen, Shen manages to stop Andy's movement. Having no way to win, Andy gives up and decides that Fuuko joins Union taking Void's place. Hearing Andy and Fuuko arguing and what they are ready to do for each other, Shen decides to not separate them and tells them the location of another Union member, which if they kill, they could both join the Union.

Learning about a Union member location in Russia, Andy, and Fuuko head out on Andy's boat. On their way, they get attacked by the Union using planes, but Andy takes out one of them. He explains that they need to kill a numbered member in order to take out a seat and he only knows three: the one that made his sword; the one that tortured him and the one that captured him. Moments later the boat gets destroyed and Fuuko gets stuck, sinking it with, but Andy manages to save her. As she wakes up, he tells her they are pretending to surrender to buy time. He reveals that he had to give her a heart massage and mouth to mouth, making Fuuko feel embarrassed and cause an underwater volcano to erupt and send Andy flying in the air, where he manages to kill the pilot and hijack the second plane. They reach lake Baikal and manages to jump from the plane before it explodes. Amazed by the view, Andy wants to leave Fuuko sightseeing while he goes meets some old buddies and believes that Union won't make a move with that many tourists there. Later Andy returns to see that Fuuko met Gina and he attacks her revealing that she was the one that caught him 50 years ago. Gina gets excited and happy to see Andy, but he attempts to cut her, but her barrier blocks his attack. Fuuko is surprised that's as Gina looks the same age as her, which makes Gina happy, but Andy explains she is 66 years old now and must be using some anti-aging tech. Seeing them together, Gina gets angry and explains that she fell in love with Andy first and how she caught him, but as there were no empty seats, they had to keep him in a cell, but Andy told her that way he would find his own rules and when he escapes he will have a rematch with her, but after he escaped, she hasn't heard from him for 40 years. As they keep fighting, Andy wonders what she actually negates and excludes hardening as that doesn't explain the invisible walls and stairs. As Gina lands an attack, she explains Andy would have been able to dodge it if the girl wasn't there and tells him to give up on her, but he refuses as she is his ticket to die. Andy shoots himself in the air and blows himself, causing a rain of blood and reveals the invisible barrier and arms of Gina, realizing she has Unchange and is able to negate the object's change in state and in this case air.

Andy forms a plan to take her down with Fuuko's help, making her touch his back with her chest in an attempt to cover as much skin area as possible for a big unluck. Seeing that Gina gets angry that she is seducing him with her breasts, but explains they will go droop after 20 years, but she will remain unchanged due to her Unchange. Andy then explains that there are two types of Negators, self-targeting ones that only affect themselves, and external types, that affect anything but themselves and that she is the second and is just using tons of makeup as well as he believes she can't use her ability on living beings. Gina gets annoyed and they keep fighting, Fuuko notices that she isn't running, but speed-walking and Andy realized her ability. He then comments they need to find the source of the stroke of unluck and at that moment, they hit something invisible above the lake. Gina explains that they are getting in the way of her investigation as she is there to look for an UMA possible hiding in it. A large ship then reveals itself and she explains she is using her ability to scan parts of the lake. They continue to fight, and Andy blinds her with his blood. He explains that there is a hole in her barrier beneath her or she won't be able to walk, but it's small only for his head to enter and he would be instantly kicked out if he does. As he came with a plan, they manage to rotate Gina's barrier and Fuuko throws Andy's head inside the barrier, with he is biting her tie.

Personality and attributes

After losing his memories, he came to operate in a new persona known as Andy (アンディ Andi?).

Powers and abilities

Andy's ability is a self-targeting type that makes him immortal and allows him to regenerate all damage. Specifically, it negates anything that brings him closer to death - including aging. The regeneration is triggered automatically by default; however, he has trained to the point where he can now control the speed. His severed body parts only last for thirty seconds once detached from his body.

A product of Andy's Undead regeneration. Andy is able to use his regeneration to spew blood from open wounds and cut off limbs. He can use it to propel himself, levitate, and somewhat fly. He's also able to control his limbs with it and use it to attack as well.
