History

The Anti-Matter Universe

The antimatter universe is also the location of the planet Qward. The Weaponers of Qward—devoted adversaries of the Guardians of the Universe—have frequently crossed swords with their dimensional counterparts, the Green Lantern Corps. To help them in their efforts to destroy the Guardians, they have frequently relied upon the aid of a former Corps member, Sinestro. After Sinestro reneged on the Green Lantern Corps, he was banished to this universe where he was popular among the Qwardians, even winning some of their annual contests of cruelty. Sinestro also acquired some high-tech weaponry from the Weaponers of Qward during his stay there. (Green Lantern Corps v2 #49)

  • Anti-Matter Man : At one point in the latter part of the 20th century, the Anti-Matter Man discovered the twin positive matter universes containing Earth-One and Earth-Two, and decided to investigate them. In his curiosity, he felt no empathy at all for the living beings populating these positive matter universes, and remained either blissfully ignorant or arrogantly unconcerned as to whether or not his presence there would endanger those positive matter universes. Ultimately, the Anti-Matter Man's threat was ended by the combined forces of the Justice League and Justice Society. They halted his progress before any long-lasting damage could be done, and the power of the Spectre banished him back to his anti-matter universe. (Justice League of America v1 #46)
  • St'nlli :
  • Kaliber :
  • Thaal Sinestro : Sinestro and Jordan faced each other several times, with Sinestro using the hunt against Jordan to earn money as a bounty hunter and Jordan using the hunt against Sinestro as an excuse to leave the planet Qward and, for example, to assault the Plus-Matter Universe. At one point they fell in love and became lovers, needing to keep their relationship a secret and keep pretending to be enemies because love was something that in their universe should be destroyed. Knowing that the war between the Green Lantern Corps and the Weaponeer Revenge Squad was about to reach its climax, Sinestro pleaded with Jordan that they would flee to the Plus-Matter Universe where things were different, but Jordan refused, and the result of that was Sinestro's death in the Lightning Forge explosion in Qwar-Deen, the capital of the Weaponeers, carried out by Jordan himself.
  • Hal Jordan : a version of Hal Jordan ended up working for the Qwa-Masters from Qward-the antimatter counterpart of the Guardians of the Universe. His body suffered intensive and horrific transformations and graftings both during his time there and at Controller Mu's hand. This saw him taking the name of Weaponeer 666.
