The origin of the Apocalypse Virus began in 2022 when a mysterious meteorite carrying an extraterrestrial crystalline substance struck the island of Oshima. A young girl named Mana Ouma discovered the impact site and became the first human to interact with the alien material, inadvertently serving as the primary host and the "Eve" of the coming plague. Upon contact, the virus began to rewrite her genetic structure, manifesting as a shimmering, purple crystalline growth that could resonate with the human psyche. This infection granted Mana the terrifying ability to manipulate the biological essence of others, effectively turning the virus into a bridge between physical form and the human soul. As the virus established its foothold within her, it remained a localized anomaly for several years, hidden from the public eye while it matured within its first host. This silent period of incubation set the stage for the scientific discovery of the virus's true nature, as the crystalline structure began to demonstrate its capacity for both total biological destruction and a forced, world-altering evolution. Scientific inquiry into the crystalline anomaly accelerated as researchers Kurosu Ouma and Shuichiro Keido spearheaded a specialized study into the virus's unique genetic resonance.
