History
Arkoral was a genetically modified form of coral developed in the early 21st century to be used in the construction effort on the original parts of the Ark. This genetically modified species of coral trapped C02 and was noted for its stink. Amongst its qualities included it being more durable than steel, lightweight and did not degrade quickly due to exposure water. The Founders were known to had preached it for being a miracle material. It smelled of fish though it was more bearable once it dried. Contact with Akoral led to the seeds being placed on Humans and it was not able to be washed off completely. Thus, those exposed to it were scared and it stained their bodies. Feasibility tests on the early strains of Arkoral and conducting experiments to imrpove upon it. This included reducing seeding time, making it faster, using monofilament to increase tensile strength, and making it more flexible. During the construction of the Ark, the Arkoral plants worked around the clock in order to create enough buouant accomodation and attempted to design simpler Arkoral pontoons in order to build new Pelgos vastly faster.
In the personal journal of Joseph Chen, it was revealed that the Akoral strain was actually becoming sterile and dying out leading to the substance breaking down. This had drastic consequences for the Ark as it meant that it along with the related structures were beginning to decay. Chen ultimately decided to keep his findings secret and attempted to find a means to solving the problem. He was noted to had informed the Founders of dozens of different ways about the problems with Akoral but never revealed his findings as he felt that they would blame him.
The specialized rebel faction known as the Resistance launched a high-stakes tactical offensive inside the high-security Ark Labs to seize a pristine, uncorrupted biological specimen of the Arkoral material. Under the direct leadership of Brother Joseph Chen, the rebel squad successfully breached the facility's heavy security doors and neutralized the automated defenses to reach the bio-sequencer vault. The team manually extracted the preserved tissue sample, locking the glowing biological asset inside a secure, reinforced container. The Resistance forces successfully escorted the material out of the lab complex to a hijacked getaway submarine, intending to use the raw genetic secrets of the coral to barter with the outside world for vital engineering aid and survival supplies.
The military command of the Ark's Security Forces, operating under Captain Clinton Mokoena, executed an emergency counter-interception mission to permanently safeguard the scientific secrets of the Arkoral compound. Security operatives deployed heavy tactical barriers and established choke points around the primary laboratory elevators to bottleneck the advancing rebel squads. By maintaining absolute control over the central mainframe and the bio-sequencer terminal, the government units successfully repelled the Resistance infiltration team before they could extract the biological asset. This defensive victory ensured that the proprietary genetic blueprints of the structural coral remained exclusively under the control of the Founders, freezing any unauthorized external distribution of the resource.
