History

The Ashen Combine were a team of extraterrestrial warriors who were considered the greatest monsters in the cosmos who had traversed and destroyed countless worlds. For a time, they were defeated by an unknown group of heroes and imprisoned within the Impossible City, though when the heroes vanished, the Ashen Combine escaped and enslaved the City as their new headquarters. (Avengers v9 #6)

Eventually, the Combine came to arrive in orbit around Earth. (Avengers v9 #2)

Overview

In appearance, the Ashen Combine were a team of superpowered extra-terrestrial beings. (Avengers v9 #3)

They were said to be a group of accomplished interdimensional cityslayers. (Avengers v9 #3)

Their lair was the Impossible City that was capable of interstellar travel. (Avengers v9 #3)

  • Idol Alabaster : Idol Alabaster was able to inspire worship in others, her strength increasing with each follower that sees her as an invincible deity. If anyone attempts to harm her in this state, any damage inflicted on her will be transferred to all of her followers. (Avengers v9 #4)
  • Lord Ennui : Described as a "living entropy", Lord Ennui is a member of the Ashen Combine, a group composed of the multiverse's greatest monsters. Along with the other members of the Ashen Combine, Lord Ennui was defeated by an unknown group of heroes and imprisoned within their sentient headquarters, the Impossible City. When the heroes vanished, the Ashen Combine escaped, commandeering the Impossible City as their mobile headquarters from which to ravage the multiverse. (Avengers v9 #6)

  • The Ashen Combine were created by Jed MacKay and Carlos Villa where they made their first appearance in Avengers v9 #3 (July, 2023).
  • In a sneak peak preview, the Ashen Combine were referred to as "collection of the multiverse’s greatest monsters".
