In Jewish and Christian lore, Asmodeus is the demon of lust, often inciting infidelity in married couples. His mother was the mortal Naamah, and his father was a fallen angel (or Adam before Eve came along). Asmodeus also oversaw the running of every gambling-house in Hell, and was "the general spreader of dissipation." The demon appeared as a being with three heads (that of a bull, a ram, and a man) and the feet of a rooster, wielding a spear and riding a dragon.

In Hebrew tradition, Asmodeus was also the demon who mated with Lilith, first wife of Adam, to create legions of demonspawn.
