Biography

Origin

Atlee was an inhabitant of the underground based civilization known as Strata that had evolved long before humanity. Her people were traced to the Astronaut God who was the lone survivor of a race that had predated time and had long ago died. The titanic being's corpse slowly drifted through the universe with entire civilizations having grown and died over its immense body. This gigantic form came to Earth during the time of the Dinosaurs where it impacted the surface with its mass causing it to sink below the surface of the world. The Astronaut Gods body was encased in a protective suit which preserved its DNA whilst on-board computers kept a log of its final centuries of life. Over time, a new race began to form from inside the space gods corpse leading to the emergence of the diverse Stratan civilization. (Terra v1 #4) Their people remained hidden deep underground but were aware of the existence of the surface and of humanity but upon seeing mankind's destructive nature they decided to keep their existence a secret. This was because they feared the reaction of humans if they were presented with the truth of a hidden civilization underground. Despite that, they kept a watch of humanity since its first emergence on the planet as despite their different origins they had a similar genetics to mankind. It was Strata's Council of Elders that decided to send forth one of their own champions to steer events to ensure that their underground civilization was kept safe as well. Thus, they selected Atlee for this role and decided to model her appearance on that of the deceased Terra of Markovia. She was then dispatched to the surface where she began to operate as a superhero and given the name Terra based on her powers as well as her similarity to the previous holder of that identity. (Terra v1 #3)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. It was known that she worked alongside four of Strata's greatest protectors in defeating the villainous Zorcrom who was imprisoned in a cocoon to remain in stasis in order to contain the threat posed by him. (Harley Quinn v3 #15)

Upon gaining her powers, she was tasked by the Council of Elders to head to the surface as environmental degradation caused by mankind had begun to affect Strata. Thus, her mission was to assimilate with mankind and to better their connection to the planetary ecosystem. (Starfire v2 #4)

She next responded to a disturbance in Brooklyn when she was shocked to find out that the cocoon imprisoning Zorcrom had been opened by Harley Quinn by accident. Once on the surface, the villain became empowered by the light making him incredibly powerful to the point that Atlee could not defeat him. This saw her call upon the aid of her friend Power Girl who initially attempted to pacify the villain but the event escalated out of control leading to a fight. Zorcrom was deprived of light thus greatly weakening him and he was struck by a bus leading to him being killed by accident. (Harley Quinn v3 #16)

Personality and attributes

She did not like it when people touched her. (Terra v1 #2)

Powers and abilities

As she was modelled on Tara Markov, she was a exact genetic match to the original Terra. (Terra v1 #1) Due to being a Stratan, she was exposed to the Quixium metal that afforded a rare few among their kind superpowers with it being responsible for giving Atlee geokinetic powers. (Terra v1 #3)

It was said that her powers would evolve as she grew older and that she had other abilities that she could access over time. (Starfire v2 #4)
