The Axis of Time is a location that features in X-Men: The Animated Series.

History

After Apocalypse captured Cable's time machine, he pondered on his lack of victory over the centuries. In order to secure complete domination, he decided to control the dimension of time itself and journeyed into the Axis where he began manipulating events to his favor. His plan was the capture of numerous psychics in order to drain them of their power which would bring about a sudden release of intense psychic energy stopping the Axis itself; thus, in essence, stopping time as well. This would mean that all of existence, except that within the Axis, would cease to exist. This would allow Apocalypse to recreate the universe in his own image in order to create a perfect universe where he would rule unchallenged.

Overview

The Axis of Time was an alternate dimension which served as a crossroads through the various time periods themselves allowing a user to manipulate the timestream to their benefit. It was a nexus point that was outside of time itself. All time was said to pass through this region. It appeared as a single planetoid in a beam of electrical yellow light covered in corridors and passageways with various solid light highways leading to it with numerous rectangular mirrors that were larger then a Human floating around.
