Ba'al Amulets
The Ba'al Amulets were a number of talismans that featured in the movie Ba'al: The Storm God.
Overview
Ba'al was the storm god in Sumerian belief and at an unspecified time sought the dominion over the world and the Human race. For his evil acts, he was challenged by his father El who broke his sons power over the storms and imprisoned Ba'al for all eterntiy. His power was split upon into four amulets each corrosponding to one of the four elements and sent to the four corners of the Earth to prevent Ba'al from ever being reformed. The Sumerian priests who oversaw the scattering placed their markers in different sites around the world with each amulet being placed in its elemental opposite.
Each amulet was a circular in nature and contained Sumerian writings on their surface that, when used in conjunction with the Dead Sea Scrolls, allowed a user to locate the next amulet. However, upon excavating the amulet and having its jewel touched by its elemental nature, the amulet would release its power into the sky creating a powerful storm that began the process of releasing Ba'al. The storm was very violent and spread from the site in order to consume any unfortunate people in its path who were killed by it as it grew out of control. The gods essence would take form as a powerful supernatural superstorm that would spread across the excavation site and grow in power by tapping into the Van Allen belt. This made him both a weather phenomena as well as an electromagnetic one who was capable of directing electric charges at his enemies.
To complete the process, a user required to place the amulets at the statue of Ba'al where there existed four slots for the talismans. Once placed, a spike from the statue protruded and speared anyone who placed the talismans in. This act allows the blood of the recently deceased to activate the water amulet and thus freed Ba'als essence to his full might. Once complete, the four storms extended their tendrils in order to create a superstorm that would encompass the globe. The only way to stop it was by taking the amulets and placing them in the statue of El which released Ba'als fathers might against his son. Another way to deprive Ba'al of his power was by detonating a nuclear warhead in the upper atmosphere to sever the link the storm had with the Van Allen belt though this was risky as it had the potential of destroying the belt itself.
