Thousands years ago the Barast's timeline met with a different fate compared to their counterparts on the Homo Sapien or (Gliksins) met. While on the Gliksin's Earth, it is mostly believed that the peaceful Neanderthal population was wiped out through racial genocide by the more aggressive race of humanity. However on the Barast's Earth, it was the Gliksins that wiped themselves out through internal fighting, allowing the Barasts to flourish on their world without unneeded competition.

A high-ranking researcher designated as Ponter Boddit participated in a ground-breaking quantum-computing experiment alongside his colleague Adikor Huld inside a deeply shielded underground laboratory. The scientific installation utilized high-energy pathways to generate a localized quantum anomaly designed to establish a stable computing array. During the baseline activation phase of the apparatus, a massive structural rupture occurred within the dimensional continuum, generating a quantum wormhole that instantly engulfed Ponter Boddit. The spatial distortion forcefully pulled his entire physical frame out of his native universe, casting him into an identical underground research facility situated in a parallel reality dominated entirely by homo sapiens.

The High Court of the Barast civilization convened a mandatory judicial session to address the sudden, unexplained disappearance of Ponter Boddit from the quantum computing facility. Because the society maintains a total digital surveillance network via Companion implants embedded in the forearms of every citizen, the local authorities determined that Adikor Huld was the sole person present at the exact millisecond Ponter vanished. Lacking any physical evidence of a dimensional displacement, the presiding magistrate officially indicted Adikor Huld on charges of capital murder. The judicial panel initiated a rigorous trial, threatening to subject Adikor to permanent chemical castration and absolute genetic termination if he failed to produce physical evidence proving his partner's survival.
