Biography

1987

Bebop was originally an African-American human gangster that was employed by the Shredder and was affiliated with the likes of thugs such as Rocksteady. With the other members of his gang, he was sent out to stop a Channel 6 reporter named April O'Neil from doing a report about crime in the city. April ran down into the sewers while being chased by the street gang and met the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who then defeated the gang in a fight. After his army of Foot Soldiers failed to stop the Turtles, Krang suggested that the Shredder mutate his own mutant soldiers so that they would have abilities parallel to the Turtles' to fight his enemies. With a new plan, Shredder sought two "volunteers" for his experiments. Bebop and Rocksteady both volunteered to undergo the procedure with the promise that it would gave them superhuman powers and allow them to exact revenge on the Turtles. He was tied down with belts on a laboratory chair. Using robot drones, the Shredder stole a rhinoceros and a warthog from the zoo and brought them in the room with his new test subjects, and so his DNA was mutated with the kidnapped warthog.

Archie

IDW

Genealdo was originally a male human who used to be in a gang with Rocksteady until they were kicked out of its ranks. They then joined the Foot Clan and defeated a bunch of other gang members for the honor to become mutants.

After that disaster, Rocksteady and Bebop began traveling back to New York, but were temporarily halted when one of Rocksteady's ears reverted back to a human's. They encountered the monster-hunter Hector Barrales, and accompanied him to find a flying monster in the area. That monster turned out to be Wingnut and Screwloose, who abducted Rocksteady; Bebop gave chase and knocked them down a canyon with the car. However, he also began reverting back to a human form.

Having fully reverted, Rocksteady and Bebop decided to try being good people for a change, and attempted to hold down jobs in Houston. Under his true name of Genealdo, Bebop got a job working under Rocksteady at the docks, but the pair encountered Xiang Fei Tong, who attempted to kill them. They were mortally wounded in the battle, but then found by Savanti Romero, who used his magic to heal them and temporarily restore them to their mutant forms. In exchange, he wanted their help to storm the Paradox Presidio and kill his enemy Lord Discordance.

When the Time Lords arrived in Houston, the pair attempted to stop them in scrapper pods, but only succeeded in causing more mayhem and provoking Agent Ravenwood into a fight. They were arrested by the Time Lords just as the spell wore off, at which point it was revealed that the reversion to human was the result of a time distortion caused by Savanti. Anchovy attacked the arresting officers, at which point Rocksteady and Bebop took the opportunity to steal their ship, going on a joyride across the Earth in search of New York. They eventually clashed with Agent Ravenwood again, nearly killing her but being badly wounded in the process. Upon regaining consciousness and returning to the city with Anchovy, the pair encountered Karai, who voiced her intent to reclaim the city.

Anton Zeck

At some point in his acquaintance with Ivan Steranko, Anton Zeck shot the Russian crime boss in the eye - supposedly by accident - resulting in Steranko adopting his trademark diamond eye.

Steranko later offered Zeck a chance to make up for his error in the past by stealing the Kuro Kabuto, helmet of the Shredder, so that Steranko could add it to his collection of artifacts. Zeck successfully broke into the Shredder's lair and stole the helmet despite running afoul of Rahzar and several Foot-Bots, but while invisible was hit by the Shellraiser. The Turtles got Zeck's bag and the helmet, but Zeck managed to plant a tracker on the Shellraiser and later knocked it over with a bomb. Zeck avoided getting involved in the fight between the Turtles and Shredder's hench-mutants, but in attempting to retrieve the helmet from Leonardo, was soundly defeated. Leo returned his bag, but damage from the night's adventures left Zeck unable to cloak himself. He was rescued by Steranko, but then discovered that Leo had taken the helmet from his bag and replaced it with dirty diapers taken from a city dumpster. Steranko vowed to hurt Zeck for this.

After the Kraang took over the city, Steranko and Zeck had been stuck in Steranko's hideout for months with nothing left to eat but cockroaches and ketchup. They came up with a plan to get out of the city, they would find the Shredder's daughter and trade her with him for a safe way out of the city, as the last thing they wanted was to be mutated by the Kraang, like the other humans in the city. But the plan did not work as intended, as the Turtles released Karai, and Steranko and Zeck were punished by being turned into two hideous mutants. Zeck was mutated first for his attempted theft of the Kuro Kabuto and is pushed into the mutagen vat by Fishface. After Steranko was mutated, Zeck stated that the Foot Clan turned them into "freaks" as they both bellow in pain, anger, and confusion. (Episode: Serpent Hunt)
