Kobra was noted to had made Blackhawk Island as the base of his operations where he harnessed the power of the captive Airwave to be able to shut down any system that tapped into the electromagnetic spectrum. (JSA v1 #11)

Two of Doctor Impossible's minions infiltrated the island in order to claim a mysterious relic kept on the base there with them being confronted by Mikaal Tomas and Congorilla. The two heroes were defeated but the attackers were then confronted by the new incarnation of the Justice League. (Justice League of America v2 #3)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

For years, the island served as the base of operations for Carter Hall and his Blackhawks. (Dark Nights: Metal v1 #1)

Overview

The eastern side of the island was noted to primarily consist of mountains. (JSA v1 #11)

It resided in a spot where phantom frequencies were present whereby cosmic energy conducted through the Earth's metal ore created a kind of space-time static that made it a hidden pocket in the world. (Dark Nights: Metal v1 #1)
