Blue Mary is a female video game character who features in Fatal Fury.

Biography

Mary Ryan (Japanese: マリー・ライアン, Hepburn: Marī Raian) was a female human who was born in the modern age. When she was growing up, she came to meet a man named Butch with the two becoming lovers and he taught her martial arts. During this time, Butch came to be a colleague and partner to her father in the Secret Service. One day, the pair were on a mission protecting the President when both were shot and killed by terrorists. Their deaths devastated Mary who was said to had never smiled again after the incident.

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Mary Ryan had short blonde hair in a bob cut, blue eyes, and a muscular body. Typically, she wore a small sleeveless red crop top, loose blue jeans with the sign of a star and brown boots along with a brown belt around the jeans. On her hands, she wore blue fingerless gloves and a green leather jacket that she tended to take off before fights. She went by the name of Blue Mary (ブルー・マリー) but was also known as the S Class Woman (Sクラスの女, Esukurasu no on'na).

Mary had a jacket that once belonged to her former lover named Butch who gave it to her as a gift.

She was the granddaughter of Tatsumi Suoh (周防 辰巳, Suō Tatsumi) who was a Japanese kobujutsu master that trained Geese Howard.

Blue Mary had a pet dog named Anton which normally accompanied her to wherever she had a fight.

Powers and abilities

It was known that she was taught martial arts by Butch with her using Commando Sambo fighting style.

  • Blue Mary was created by SNK where she featured in the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters universe.
  • According to Neo Geo Freak, the characters original visual inspiration was Android 18 from Akira Toriyama's manga series Dragon Ball.
