Origin

Buddy Blank

He was working at Pseudo-People, Inc. when he uncovered the horrible work the company was doing using artificial people. This led to Brother Eye transforming Buddy into OMAC where he was fed information that declared the company an enemy of the Global Peace Agency. (OMAC v1 #1)

Post-Crisis

Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

His transformation led to him becoming the One-Many Army Corps or OMAC. (OMAC v1 #1)

Brother Eye had said that he and Buddy Blank were joined like brothers. (OMAC v1 #1)

Powers and abilities

Buddy Blank was an ordinary human being with no special powers. (OMAC v1 #1)

It was through an electronic surgery that was a computer hormone operation which could be triggered via remote control. Activation was achieved through the Brother Eye satellite in orbit which transformed Blank into OMAC through invisible beams of energy. In this state, he gained superhuman traits such as superstrength, lightning reflexes and his skin being impervious to bullets. The strength and even knowledge held by him was powered by the unknown power source in the satellite. The link to Brother Eye was the eye symbol located on OMAC's chest. (OMAC v1 #1)

One incarnation of him was said to be a member of the Global Peace Agency where he was attached to Project OMAC. (OMAC v1 #1)

  • Buddy Blank was created by Jack Kirby where he made his first appearance in OMAC v1 #1 (October, 1974).

Alternate Versions

  • In Countdown to Final Crisis v1 #6 (2008), an alternate version of Buddy Blank appeared in the reality of Earth-51 in the Multiverse.

In other media

Television

  • In Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Buddy Blank appeared in the setting of the animated television series where he was voiced by actor Jeff Bennett.
