In 2068, Black came to be the second in command the Zero-X spacecraft for a manned mission to Mars where they were assigned to investigate anomalous radio signals detected by the Spectrum Organisation.

Overview
Personality and attributes
Whilst operating for the Spectrum Organisation, he went under the code name of Captain Black where he served as a field agent.
After his revival by the Mysterons, he came to be their chief agent on Earth an sought to enact their plans to destroy the human race.
Powers and abilities
He gained a kind of sixth sense that warned him of danger and the arrival of enemies closing on his position. This made him a difficult adversary to capture as he always managed to escape attempts to capture him.
Notes
- Captain Black was created by Gerry Anderson and Sylvia Anderson where he featured in the setting of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons.
- Originally, the character slated to had been killed off but Christine Glanville altered the puppet to show that the character was under Mysteron's control. According to Glanville: "Once I'd painted him up to look gaunt and pallid, Gerry [Anderson] took one look and decided to keep him on as a regular."
