Popular manga series written and drawn by Nobuhiro Watsuki which tells the story of Kenshin Himura, a wandering swordsman in the Meiji era of Japan who has vowed to never kill again. The manga ended at 28 volumes and is currently being distributed in the United States. Following the success of the manga was a 95 episode anime, a prequel OVA (Original Video Animation) and one full-length movie. While it had 95 episodes, the anime did not cover the entire manga as it deviated from its source following the conclusion of the Legend of Kyoto arc. The anime was cancelled before the manga could catch up with original material.
