Jonah came to relax at the club when he began to rant and complain about Spider-Man with this angering Norman Osborn. This led to Osborn departing angrily leaving his fellow club member Jameson behind. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #62)
Jameson later went to the Club in order to confront Wilson Fisk where he confronted him on being the Kingpin and to expose his operations. However, he stated that he was willing to let it be in exchange for information Fisk had on the waterfront extortion scam. Fisk was impressed with Jonah's actions and decided to agree to the terms.
