The Church of Humanity
Overview
Members of the Church believed that mankind were divine creations that were made in God's image. The Church opposed the idea that a higher species in Mutants was set to rise with Homo Sapiens's end coming to pass. In fact, they believed claims of co-existence was simply rhetoric and that in reality annihilation awaited the human race at the hands of Mutants. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #400)
They were known to see certain scientific achievements as a perversion that were marked for excommunication. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #400)
The leader of the Church held the title of Supreme Pontiff. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #400)
It was noted that the Church of Humanity possessed state of the art technology and equipment. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #400)
Uniform worn by Church members was a fairly standard kevlar that was sewn into the material of robes that were exceptionally light-weight. Underneath the clothing, they were required to wear a personal teleportation net that was controlled either by the wearer or by remote. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #400)
