- Cornelius Stirk was created by Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle where he made his first appearance in Detective Comics v1 #592 (November, 1988).

Television
- In Gotham, a character by the name of Stirk was shown in the live-action television series in the episode "A Legion of Horribles" where he was portrayed by actor Kameron Omidian. He was shown as an in-mate at Arkham Asylum with cannibalistic tendencies who was placed in the same cell as the newly imprisoned Edward Nygma. Stirk attempted to eat Nygma but was held back by a chain that kept him from his prey.
