Count Viper is a male comic supervillain who features in DC Comics.

Biography

Comte Etienne du Vipere was a male human born in France several centuries ago where he became inspired by the American Declaration of Freedom and journeyed to the country to aid them in the fight for freedom. During that fight, his psionic powers first came to manifest and he came to make good use of them as a spy. General Washington was said to had been most grateful to the man though John Adams found his talents to be diabolical where he began calling him Count Viper which he adopted as his name. It was his friend Benjamin Franklin that suggested Comte keep the existence of his powers a secret and that he should work from the shadows. Once America had achieved its independence, the Count Viper decided to return to his home country where he was determined for France to experience the blessings of freedom. (Hawkworld v2 #31)

At some point, he was noted to had encountered the man who later became the Fiddler and noted his psionic talent. He the came to train the person in the use of their abilities but the man managed to flee the Count Viper before he could kill them. (Hawkworld v2 #31)

Overview

Personality and attributes

The name Count Viper was given to him by John Adams who found the man's actions to be diabolical. The name came to stick and Comte decided to adopt it as his nom de guerre. (Hawkworld v2 #31)

In his life, he was noted to had met many historical figures which included General Washington, John Adams and Benjamin Franklin. (Hawkworld v2 #31)

Powers and abilities

He was a psionic whose mental powers allowed for the manipulation of even the physical world. Over the decades, he came to master all the psionic powers he possessed and became a potent user of this ability. (Hawkworld v2 #31)

It was when he faced death by execution that his mind desperately moved to another body and switched places with them. This allowed him to survive his demise and over the decades he had switched countless bodies whilst his original lay dead. (Hawkworld v2 #31)

  • Count Viper was created by John Ostrander and Tim Truman where he made his first appearance in Hawkworld v2 #30 (January, 1993).
