Crimson Avenger (Albert Elwood)

Albert Elwood was a male human who was noted for being a brilliant engineer who became inspired to become a costumed crimefighter. He took the name of a former lawman and developed an arsenal of tools where he went into field to help Batman and Robin. The new Crimson Avenger arrived at the scene as the Caped Crusader was battling members of the Octopus Gang but he got in the way of the crimefighters leading to the criminals escape. Afterwards, the newspapers all mocked the efforts of the new vigilante with this angering Elwood who decided to confront the Octopus again. However, he was captured and his costumed persona was taken over by one of the gang members who used the identity to thwart any heroes efforts to arrest his comrades. (World's Finest v1 #131)

- The concept of the Crimson Avenger was created by Jim Chambers where it made its first appearance in Detective Comics v1 #20 (October, 1938).
Alternate Versions
- In Kingdom Come: Revelations v1 #1 (1997), it was detailed in the alternate version of the Crimson Version came to exist in the Elseworld setting of Earth-22 in the Multiverse. This incarnation was known as King Crimson that appeared as a gigantic red demon with a back and yellow bullet wound symbol on his chest.

- In Stargirl, the Lee Travis Crimson Avenger was shown in the setting of the live-action DC Universe television series where a photo of him was seen in the episode "Brainwave".
