Biography

Jaime Ortiz was a member of the street gang Bunsen Burners, whose criminal career came to a sudden end when he was caught and nearly killed by the Punisher's Battle Van's defenses. While his underlings were killed by the Battle Van's automated defenses, Damage made it into the vehicle, where he was ensnared and crippled by its mechanical tentacles and coils. The trapped Damage was later found by the Punisher, who dropped him off at a hospital, having concluded that letting Damage live out the rest of his life in the mangled state he was in would be punishment enough. (Punisher War Journal v1 #8)

Hearing about him and his encounter with the Punisher, Arranger had Damage cybernetically rebuilt to be a part of the Kingpin's assassins. (Wolverine and The Punisher: Damaging Evidence v1 #1)

In a bid to frame the Punisher for deaths of innocents, Jamie's features are reconstructed into Frank's likeness. With help from Wolverine, the Punisher managed to destroy Damage and clear his name. (Wolverine and The Punisher: Damaging Evidence v1 #2)

Later the Kingpin sent his intact head to Donald Pierce for reconstruction. (Wolverine and The Punisher: Damaging Evidence v1 #3)
