Dejah Thoris was a female Red Martian who was born the daughter of Mors Kajak and lived on the world of Barsoom.

Personality and attributes
In appearance, Dejah Thoris was a Red Martian who greatly resembled a human woman where she had a slender, girlish figure. Her face was oval and beautiful in the extreme with every feature being finely chiseled and exquisite. Dejah's eyes large and lustrous and her head surmounted by a mass of coal black, waving hair, caught loosely into a strange yet becoming coiffure. Her skin was of a light reddish copper color, against which the crimson glow of her cheeks and the ruby of her beautifully molded lips shone with a strangely enhancing effect.
Dejah Thoris was the daughter of Mors Kajak who served as the Jed (Translation: Chieftain) of Lesser Helium. Her grandfather was noted to had been Tardos Mors who was Jeddak (Translation: Overlord or High king) of Helium.
Later on, she would encounter the Earthman John Carter where she developed a romantic interest in him. Following their adventures, she would end up marrying him where she became his wife.
