Delta-67

Delta-67 is the name of a drug that features in the anime series Blood+.

History

Originally, the project began in Russia where it was eventually perfected in Germany before being moved to Vietnam in 1972.

A hematologist by the name of Ted Adams became involved in the project who began his studies in Vietnam during the time of the Vietnam War. He was introduced to Diva who provided a sample of her own blood for the project. This saw hematology experiments being conducted in order to find a way to improve the long-term preservation of the blood supplies provided by Diva. The intention was to create a means of preserving Diva's blood which was being used to produce the drug known as Delta-67. (Episode: Ekaterinburugu no tsuki)

Background

Once introduced into the human bloodstream, the effects of Delta-67 led to the host mutating and eventually transforming into an artificial chiropteran.
