History
The Demon Clan (Japanese: 魔神族, Hepburn: Majin-zoku) were an ancient race of demons that long ago inhabited the lands that became known as Britannia. According to the Lady of the Lake, the Demon Clan and their realm were created by the [[Demon King (The Seven Deadly Sins)|Demon King after he was created by Chaos alongside the Supreme Deity and the Sacred Tree. The Demons were one of the five races that inhabited the world with these including the Goddess Clan, the Fairy Clan, the Giant Clan and the Human Clan.
Around 3,000 years ago, it was noted that the Demon Clan came to suffer from constant clashes with the Goddess Clan that was the result of the bitter rivalry between their two respective rulers. One account claimed that the abundance of magical energy in the world was one of the reasons for waging of the Holy War.
It was then that the Demon Clan were sealed away within their realm with the Coffin of Eternal Darkness preventing their return to the world.
Overview
In appearance, the Demon Clan were a diverse race of beings of varying shapes and forms. Unlike other races, demons were noted for possessing seven hearts with the destruction of a single one though painful was not enough to kill them. Destroying all seven hearts though was note to be capable of killing them regardless of their power.
The shadowy substance of a demon was capable of spiralling out from their bodies and could re-attach their severed limbs. In fact, upper level demons could be ripped apart but then re-attach their limbs with ease. It was shown that demon blood had remarkable properties that could be used to give humans greater powers. Demons could also feast on the souls of others and use it to replenish their magical energy.
Demons claimed to had stood above all the other races and looked down at them for being weak. Despite that, they were known to accept members of the other clans into their ranks. This was especially the case for those that were ostracised for being different. According to the Demon Clan, they knew what it was like to feel like outsiders as this was how the other races had treated them.
The Demon Clan were divided into numerous classes of demons with the lower ranks being determined by the colour of their skin. Red Demons (赤き魔神 Akaki Majin) were a class of lower demons that were identified by their obese bodies and red skin along with clownish features. There was noted to be a queen caste of demons that were responsible for birthing more of their kind and even used other races as part of the process.
They had an elite force of warriors known as the Ten Commandments (Japanese: 十戒 Jikkai) who were chosen by the Demon King himself.
Among their creations were the Great Beast Albions (アルビオン, Arubion) that were titanic golems who served in their armies.
