Biography
Origin
Devastation was a female daughter of the Titan Cronus who formed her from clay as a mirror to Wonder Woman. After being shaped, she was gifted with the powers of the Children of Cronus who conferred on the newborn a different ability. This saw Disdain, Arch, Titan, Slaughter, Oblivion and Harrier giving her powers whilst Cronus gave her the gift of life along with her name. (Wonder Woman v2 #145)
She intended to get physical contact with the Lasso of Truth as she would use it to learn everything about Diana. (Wonder Woman v2 #143)
Post-Flashpoint
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. She was in Hub City where she got involved in a fight with Firebrand which was when she was approached by Warmaster who recruited her to join the Four Horsewomen as they gathered to attack Wonder Woman. Personality and attributes
In appearance, Devastation was a humanoid being with pale skin and short red hair. (Wonder Woman v2 #143) It was noted that her eyes were pitch black. (Wonder Woman v2 #145) When walking among mortals, she disguised herself as a human and went by the name Deva. (Wonder Woman v2 #143)
From childhood, her eyes observed the world as if she was reaching for a toy that she wanted to break. (Wonder Woman v2 #145)
It was said that she operated as a chess player where she was several moves ahead of her opponents Devastation turned people against one another through manipulation and innuendo. (Wonder Woman v2 #144)
Devastation was known to switch to her child form in order to cause her foes to hesitate in striking her. This allowed her to gain an advantage and strike them first. (Wonder Woman v2 #143)
She was the daughter of Cronus where on her birth she had bitten her father when he told Devastation her purpose in life. This simply drew amusement from him and his other children. (Wonder Woman v2 #145)
Powers and abilities
Devastation was shaped from clay by her father Cronus and given life by the Titan. After her creation, she was given her powers by each of the Children of Cronus who gave her different abilities associated with them. (Wonder Woman v2 #145) These gave her various powers ranging from superstrength, speed, flight, mind manipulation, shapeshifting and enhanced intelligence. (Wonder Woman v2 #144)
Each child of Cronus gave her powers with these being:
- Disdain : Disdain gave her the beauty to control emotions and to become the perfect woman allowing her to bend man to her will. (Wonder Woman v2 #145)
- Arch : Arch gave her the mind of a cunning strategist. (Wonder Woman v2 #145)
- Titan: Titan gave her the power of the earthquake. (Wonder Woman v2 #145)
- Slaughter : Slaughter gave her the precision of a killer thus gifting her the knowledge of painful death. (Wonder Woman v2 #145)
- Oblivion : Oblivion gave her the silence of thought and the ability to walk in man's memory. (Wonder Woman v2 #145)
- Harrier : Harrier gave her the speed of flight making her the fastest if her intention was killing. (Wonder Woman v2 #145)
She was able to change her form between that of a child to a teenager. (Wonder Woman v2 #143)
It was said that she was faster and stronger than Wonder Woman. (Wonder Woman v2 #144)
