Clark Savage Jr. was the son of noted adventurer and scientist Clark Savage, Sr.

Personality and attributes

He was a doctor, scientist, adventurer, detective, and polymath who righted wrongs and punished evildoers.

Savage was noted for his oath: "Let me strive every moment of my life to make myself better and better, to the best of my ability, that all may profit by it. Let me think of the right and lend all my assistance to those who need it, with no regard for anything but justice. Let me take what comes with a smile, without loss of courage. Let me be considerate of my country, of my fellow citizens and my associates in everything I say and do. Let me do right to all, and wrong no man."

It was shown that he had a cousin by the name of Patricia Savage.

One of his greatest enemies was the Russian-born John Sunlight.

Powers and abilities

He was known to operate from the 86th floor of a New York City skyscraper that he reached by a private high-speed elevator.

  • Doc Savage was created by Henry W. Ralston, John L. Nanovic and Lester Dent where he made his first appearance in Doc Savage Magazine v1 #1 (March, 1933).
  • Marvel Comics editor Stan Lee noted as crediting Doc Savage as being the forerunner to modern superheroes.
