Biography
Pre-Crisis
Ub'x
Doctor Ub'x became a powerful ruler who conquered most of the planets in his sector and the defeated the resident Green Lantern. When Ub'x turned his attention on conquering H'lven, his home planet, he faced the resistance led by Ch'p, but he overpowered them, and sentenced Ch'p to be executed. However, Ch'p escaped from his cell when a Guardian of the Universe appeared to him in his cell and offered him a power ring, becoming the new Green Lantern of sector 1014. With his new power, Ch'p defeated Ub'x and his army, and they became sworn enemies since. (Green Lantern Corps v1 #203)
Time and time again Ub'x attacked Ch'p to test his abilities. One day, he learned his secret identity and kidnapped Ch'p's girlfriend, M'nn'e, demanding the Green Lantern to give up his ring to save her. Ch'p tricked him and saved M'nn'e, thwarting Ub'x's plan. Since there are no cages in H'lven, Ch'p allowed his enemy to be free. Dr. Ub'x retreated to his well-guarded fortress to hatch a new plot. (Green Lantern Corps v1 #203)
Post-Crisis
Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
