Biography
Donald Duck
Moored alongside a quiet waterfront dock, the nautical, sailor-suit-clad avian spent his afternoon playing a small button accordion aboard his dilapidated houseboat, completely ignoring his social obligations to the local community. His peaceful isolation was abruptly disrupted when a hard-working chicken named Peter Pig and a mother hen approached his vessel to solicit his physical assistance in planting a communal field of corn. Desperate to escape the impending agricultural chore, the deceptive waterfowl suddenly doubled over in theatrical agony, clutching his stomach and falsely claiming that a severe, agonizing abdominal ache made it completely impossible for him to assist. However, when the industrious poultry later returned to host a celebratory feast featuring a wide array of freshly prepared corn dishes, the greedy bird eagerly rushed forward to claim a portion of the culinary rewards. Catching him completely healthy and exposed in his lie, the clever hens subverted his expectations by handing him a bottle of castor oil to treat his imaginary sickness, driving the thoroughly humiliated and temperamental duck into a frantic, wing-flapping tantrum.
Eager to contribute to a benefit concert organized by Mickey Mouse for a rowdy auditorium packed with orphaned children, the overconfident avian stepped into the spotlight to recite a classic nursery rhyme. However, his dramatic recitation was immediately and ruthlessly derailed by the mischievous audience, who heckled him relentlessly, blew raspberries, and threw physical objects onto the stage. Completely unequipped to handle the disrespect, the highly volatile waterfowl experienced a spectacular emotional meltdown. He hopped violently on one webbed foot, shook his fists in a blind fighting rage, and squawked a series of completely unintelligible verbal challenges at his underage tormentors. Despite his repeated, frantic attempts to restart the performance, the unruly orphans weaponized boxing gloves, pop-guns, and ice cream cones to physically assault the bird, ultimately pulling him off the stage with a magnet. This historic theatrical conflict successfully established his signature behavioral archetype, permanently transforming him into a hilarious, hot-headed comic foil.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Donald Duck was a white duck with orange-yellow webbed feet and bill, with blue sclerae and black pupils. He is usually seen wearing a bright blue sailor shirt with yellow accents and a red bow tie, along with a bright blue sailor hat with a black cylinder-shaped brim and black ribbon hanging from the side. In his debut appearance, his bill was much longer, his sclerae was white, his bow tie was black, his sailor shirt was a lighter blue with white accents, and his sailor hat was white was a light blue cylinder-shaped brim and a black ribbon hanging from the side.
His voice was one of the most iconic and identifiable voices in all of animation. His form of speech would be duplicated for other characters, such as his girlfriend, Daisy Duck, and his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Much of his most famous personality trait being his explosive temper. When angered, Donald will pitch a fit of quacking and bouncing in place while flaunting his fists, usually as a threat to whomever caused him his latest annoyance. He is also arrogant and can be quite the show-off, especially when he is skilled at something. This has a tendency to get him into trouble, however, as he often gets in over his head.
In contrast to these negative traits, Donald is—at his core—a warm and loving character. When not dealing with a problem, Donald can be quite jovial and friendly, and he usually tries his hardest to keep his temper under control for the sake of his own contentment, as well as those around him.
For all his bravado, Donald is secretly insecure about himself. He takes offense to those who cannot understand his voice and is notoriously envious of Mickey Mouse's popularity. Donald's bad luck also plays a part in his low self-esteem, as he sometimes sees himself as a failure due to his frequent mishaps. Donald tends to hide this with a boisterous veneer, though he has confided in Daisy about his inhibition on occasion.

Notes

- Donald was created by Walt Disney when he heard Clarence Nash doing a peculiar voice while reciting "Mary Had a Little Lamb". Nash described the voice as that of a baby goat. Walt, however, insisted that it was a duck. Using Nash's performance as a reference, Walt's duck character was steadily designed and developed into a character named 'Donald Duck'.
