Biography

Druig was a male member of the race of Eternals where he was the son of Valkin of the city of Polaria. (Eternals v1 #11)

A thousand years ago, he and the other Eternals looked to prepare sites on Earth for the coming of the Third Host of the Celestials. In that time, he accompanied his father, his uncle Valkin and Ajak as they travelled to their destination. On the way, Druig spied a golden-haired individual flying in the sky and attacked him with this actually being the Asgardian Thor with his kin getting involved in the fight. This was until Valkin put an end to it and instead asked about the mysterious strange. It was only then that they learnt that Thor was one of the planet's mythical gods and decided to take him to Olympia. During the journey, they learnt that Thor had encountered the imprisoned Deviant Mutate Dromedan with this leading to Druig looking to take over the creature in order to claim control of the planet. However, this had the effect of releasing Dromdan who went on a rampage where the Eternals along with Thor working together to defeat the Mutate. (Thor Annual v1 #7)

In 1242 AD.; Ögedei Khan the son of Ghenghis Khan sent General Subutai to invade Europe with the Mongol horde. Kingo Sunen learned that Druig was marching with them and believed he was controlling their minds. Upon confronting him at a campfire, the warriors fired arrows at him but Kingo just plucked them out of the air. Druig revealed the truth that he was not controlling the Mongols and had nothing to do with the rise of the Mongol Empire nor their brutally efficient methods he was just their to study them. Druig suggested that if he wanted to stop them he should assassinate Subutai. Kingo crept into the leader's tent but could not bring himself to do it fearing he would become like Druig. The next day, Subutai and his Horde returned home and Druig stayed to meet with Kingo. He explained that Ogedei Khan had died of a stroke and the Mongols must return home to select a new ruler. Druig claimed not to have known what was happened but stated that if he killed Subutai the Horde would of continued into Europe killing thousands more. (Eternals v5 #4)

At some point, he masqueraded as a human being and came to serve as a Major in the KGB. He and his fellow Polar Eternals masqueraded as Russian military officers in order to discourage the folly of atomic confrontations. (Eternals v1 #11)

He along with the other Eternals in Russia came to receive the summons from Zuras to gather at Olympia. (Eternals v1 #11)

Druig was among the Eternals who was resurrected following their recent collective demise. (Eternals v5 #6)

Overview

Personality and attributes

It was said that he was not a warrior but more of a thinker though his fellow Eternals would comment that he was actually more of a plotter. (Thor Annual v1 #7)

He said that he was not displeased in his human identity of being a Major in the KGB. It was said that he was a sly torturer who loved the foul work and revelled in the shaping of plots of assassins. He was noted for being a cool figure with him ignoring tensions as he had no need for horse play. Valkin believed he had allowed Druig to interact with humans for too long and that this had moulded his character with this leading to him being influenced by their worst instincts. (Eternals v1 #11)

His father was the Eternal Valkin who was of the Polarian Eternals. (Eternals v1 #11)

Druig was a male member of the race of Eternals that had long been genetically engineered by the Celestials. (Eternals v1 #11)

Among mankind, he came to masquerade as a human where he crafted an identity as a Major in the KGB in Russia. (Eternals v1 #11)
