Earth-65

Earth-65 is a planet that features in Marvel Comics.

History

Earth-65 was an alternate reality that existed within the Multiverse.

After Nazi double agents sabotaged the operation, causing the death of the lead scientist Abraham Erskine and the loss of his research, Sam Wilson was the only subject that could take part of the process to have their body enhanced to the peak of human physique. Sam became Captain America, and fought for her country during WWII. Captain America was soon targeted by the Nazi science initiative, Hydra, and confronted villains such as Baron Zemo and the Red Skull. Sam's war efforts came to an abrupt end when she confronted Hydra scientist Arnim Zola, who had devised a plan to invade the Earth with the combined Nazi forces of alternate realities. The interdimensional gateway was destroyed, but Cap found herself trapped outside of her universe, and wandered through realities for seventy-five years. (Spider-Gwen v2 #2)

After Captain America disappeared in the middle of the war, Project Rebirth worked tirelessly for decades to recreate their only success. One of these attempts was Sam 13, a male clone of Sam Wilson, who became Captain America's protégé when she returned 75 years after her disappearance. (Spider-Gwen v2 #2)

One evening, Jack Murdock and his son Matt Murdock were involved in a truck accident. This left Maggie Murdock in a coma whilst Matt discovered that, while the chemical waste spilled by the truck in his eyes had rendered him blind, it had also enhanced his remaining senses to superhuman levels. With his wife hospitalized and his son disabled, Jack worked his way up boxing ranks filled with determination to pay the medical bills that were burying him. However, he soon discovered his fights had been rigged by the crime boss Silvermane. Initially agreeing to lose the final match in exchange for a payoff, Jack instead knocked out his opponent as a consequence of both pride and frustration, costing Silvermane a small fortune. When Silvermane's men attacked Jack and Matt in revenge, they only managed to fatally injure Jack before being stopped by the vigilante known as Stick. Recognizing Matt's superhuman abilities, Stick took the boy under his wing and started training him to help him in his war against New York's crime syndicate. Matt's mentor was killed in battle against Silvermane's ninja allies, the Hand, and Matt slaughtered the ninjas responsible before being defeated. Impressed with the blind boy’s skill, the Hand took Matt into their fold, training him in Japan into becoming a deadly assassin. (Spider-Gwen v2 #28)

After being bitten by a genetically-engineered spider, Gwen Stacy was granted arachnid-like super-powers, and started a career as a crimefighter, dubbed by the media as Spider-Woman. She was given a costume and a set of Web-Shooters by retired crimefighter Janet van Dyne. Gwen spent most of her early adventures focused on exploiting and maintaining her newfound attention more than helping those in need; however, Gwen's behavior changed after her father expressed he believed Spider-Woman could easily help people.
