Echelon (Stormrise)
Echelon is the name of a Human civilization that featured in the game Stormrise.
Background
The Echelon was formed after the planetary disaster on Earth known as the Event which led to devastating change to the world. Knowing of this impending crisis, the forefathers of the people that would become the Echelon fled underground and continued their civilization in safety. Their hope was that the surface would stabilize at some point allowing them to become the inheritors of the Earth once more. This allowed their knowledge, equipment and learnings to continue across the years. When they emerged into the world once more, only a small piece of the planet was now habitable. Attempting to colonize this region, they came into conflict with the fractured remnants of humanity that continued living on the surface - they were known as the Sai.
