Edward Byron

Psychologist and self-help guru Edward Byron was in reality a ruthless criminal mastermind who had programmed his patients via hypnosis and special microwave-emitting lapel pins to commit various crimes throughout New York City. Not content with getting a little at a time, Byron revealed to the Mayor of New York that a certain number of his patients had been programmed to commit mass suicide, and would do so unless Byron was given a substantial amount of money. With little other choice, the Mayor relented, but Byron's plans were ruined by Spider-Man.
