Biography

The King of Nineveh in Incredible Hulk v6 #15.

Eldest

For centuries, she remained sealed away inside an underground tomb until a group of documentarians unwittingly breached the ruins and triggered her release. Upon awakening, she immediately set a grand, sinister plot into motion, sending a psychic command across the globe to turn every primordial beast and cryptid against Bruce Banner. Her central objective was to hunt down and capture the Jade Giant, whose unique, gamma-irradiated physical form was the vital key needed to break a cosmic seal and liberate her imprisoned creator, the Mother of Horrors. Operating from the shadows, she orchestrated a series of monstrous ambushes to wear the Hulk down and claim her prize. (Hulk Annual v3 #1)

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Eldest was a monstrous shapeshifter who could take on other forms and take over host bodies. (Incredible Hulk v6 #17) Their true form was said to be that of a colossal, insectoid and demonic entity that completely dwarfed the Hulk. Her towering physique featured a deeply textured, leathery purple exoskeleton characterized by an exposed thoracic cage and writhing, visceral segments along her abdomen. Her elongated head was crowned by two massive, sweeping horns curving backward, while a spiked halo or ring hangs suspended directly behind her skull. Her entire silhouette was aggressively flanked by a pair of massive, leathery bat-like wings lined with distinct skeletal ribbing and sharp, prominent claws at the joints. Spikes and needle-like protrusions emerged from her shoulders and spine, presenting a menacing, primordial silhouette that completely lacked any traditional garments, uniform markings, or recognizable insignias. (Incredible Hulk v6 #17) In one instance, she took the body of a human child and ruled a city as king. (Incredible Hulk v6 #15) After taking over the Hulk's body, she came to be referred to as the Infernal Hulk. (Infernal Hulk v1 #1)

Powers and abilities

As the Abomination in Incredible Hulk v6 #30.

Her primary active power was absolute monster dominion, which granted her a global hive-mind telepathic link to every ancient, primordial beast hidden across the planet, allowing her to command them to hunt her targets simultaneously. She exhibited immense chronological endurance, having survived completely unharmed while trapped in isolation for thousands of years within her sealed tomb. Additionally, she possessed the ability to manipulate magical seals and manipulate environmental energies to broadcast her influence outward from her base of operations. Her power was deeply tied to the ancient cosmic forces of the world, making her a threat capable of orchestrating massive physical traps without needing to engage in direct, close-quarters combat. (Hulk Annual v3 #1)
