- The Executioner was created by Dick Sprang where he made his first appearance in Detective Comics v1 #191 (January, 1953).
In other media
Television
- In Gotham, a version of the Executioner came to appear in the live-action television series where he was portrayed by actor Michael Chiklis. This version was Nathaniel Barnes who came to take on the identity after being infected by the Alice Tetch virus that drove him slowly insane.
