History
The Eye of Terror (High Gothic: Ocularis Terribus) was a massive warp storm that was a disturbance in reality that was located in the Milky Way galaxy. It was created over 11,000 years ago in the twilight years of the Eldar empire who once ruled the cosmos. At the height of their decadence, their psychic energies came to amalgamate and create the last of the four Chaos Gods with this being the youngest one known as Slaanesh. The birth created the largest warp storm known that was formed in the heart of the Eldar empire and bringing about an end to their galactic dominance.
The perimeter of the Eye was thoroughly wracked by Warp storms that effectively formed a barrier that both trapped the Eye's inhabitants and kept out intruders.
The Eye was originally designated a stellar anomaly known as Cygnus X-1 by the early astrographical Adepts of the Imperium of Man during the Great Crusade in the late 30th Millennium. It was Perturabo, the Primarch of the Iron Warriors Legion, who would give the Warp rift its name as the Eye of Terror in the early days of the Horus Heresy.
