Ferrin Colos

After shutting down a smuggling ring, he was informed by Regional Administrator Sleer Prigatz of a disturbance on the planet Earth involving a crime syndicate that were peddling in an addictive Loku drug that turned the natives violent. Thus, it was decided by N.E.M.O. to assign Colos to the task of policing the planet. (Darkstars v1 #1) With the help of two Earthmen, detective John Flint and Mo Douglas, Colos succeeded in stopping the drug ring and destroying their factory. Prigatz was so satisfied with his results that he officially assigned Colos to stay and patrol on Earth. (Darkstars v1 #2)

As per NEMO regulations, which allows Darkstars to pick two native deputies, Colos recruited Flint and Mo to join him on his patrol and gave them their own Exo-Mantles. During their next missions, Flint had trouble following the chain of command, rushing into battle despite Colos' orders to stand down and wait. Ferrin had to assert his authority in repeated occasions, which eventually led to Flint resigning from being a deputy. (Darkstars v1 #7)

A distress signal led Ferrin Colos and his deputies to a crisis on the planet Maltus, where they received orders from the Controllers to prevent anyone from attacking the Triarch. This orders meant opposing Green Lantern. However, Colos ignored them and decided to join forces with Hal Jordan to avenge his fallen comrades and save Maltus. Shortly after, even more Darkstars arrived on the planet to enforce the Controllers' orders, and Colos had to oppose his brothers. (Darkstars v1 #11) However, the Darkstars stopped fighting each other when they learned that the Triarch were not actually gods, but artificial being created by the rogue Controller Daalon. Thus, they decided to join forces with the Green Lantern Corps to avert the crisis. (Darkstars v1 #12)

Following the situation with Merayn Dethalis, Colos lied about not seeing the fugitive on Earth. However, Jeddigar learned the truth, and Colos faced court-martial. After a questionable trial, Jeddigar declared him guilty, and Colos was kicked out of the Darkstars. His replacement was announced right after the trial: the former Titan Donna Troy would become Earth's Darkstar. (Darkstars v1 #23)
