History

Department C4 was an organization that was founded at the turn of the 20th century to study and experiment with extraterrestrial material and technology that applied their findings towards security interests of the United Kingdom.

Its first known operation was during World War I where under Project: Twilight they were involved with infecting human test subjects with the Twilight Virus. This saw the incorporation of vampire DNA into humans in order to create human-vampire hybrids that would serve as supersoldiers. However, the test subjects came to escape on October 1915 who then slaughtered all the personnel on the base. Among those attacked was the chief scientist Dr. William Abberton who was mortally wounded and injected himself with a virus to survive. Afterwards, he came to take the name Nimrod for himself and sought to track down escaped vampires.

In 1917, the Doctor came to encounter the Forge running their secret project running from the Charnage Hospital where they were brainwashing British soldiers that would make them more aggressive but had a side effect of making the test subjects time-sensitive.
