Freemen (El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron)
The Freemen are a resistance group that features in El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron.
Background
The Freemen were a mysterious organization that operated from within the Tower. They were Humans that remained faithful to God when the Fallen Angels came to Earth and crafted the Tower. They rejected the Watchers and condemned the false world that they had created along with its distorted ideals as well as sorcerous arts. The Freemen claimed to neither fear suppression or persecution by those that worshipped the Watchers. At some point, they were known to had raised the young girl Nanna. When Enoch's soul was being purified in Heaven, the Fallen Angels took this opportunity to wipe out this resistance to their rule. The corpses of the Freemen littered the battleground when Nanna walked across this desert where she awoke as Ishtar. Afterwards, she took leadership over the surviving Freemen and the organization regained its forces. This led to them embarking on a head on attack on the remaining Fallen Angels with the intention to never stop fighting until they freed their souls. The Freemen pledged their lives to Ishtar and their service to their leader who called himself Sin.
