Galactic Ranger Force

The Galactic Ranger Force is an organization that features in Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers.

History

The Galactic Ranger Force was an interstellar military that worked on behalf of the Galactic Federation which consisted of countless extraterrestrial species. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #7)

Once the Insecton threat was dealt with, the Tiger was prepared to depart for its next assignment though Earth's military forces on the ground attempted to detain them. However, Captain Victory ordered a 'zap out' and had his forces depart the world. Around this time, Ranger Station Vega was attacked by the Wonder Warriors on behalf of their master from Quadrant X where they stole the facility's information core. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #8) Upon arriving at Quadrant X, the Tiger was ambushed by the Wonder Warriors but managed to capture four of the criminals but the Rangers were unable to match the powers of Paranex, the Cosmic Fetus. Overview

They were upholders of Galactic Law and sought to enforce it. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #1) The slogan of the Rangers was "Victory is Sacrifice". (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #7)

Command of the organization was staffed at a facility known as Ranger Center. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #8) Recruiting officers were responsible for finding citizens and enlisting them to Ranger service. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #7)

Ordering a "Zap Out" was where the captain of a ship had all his forces return to the vessel at utmost urgency. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #8)

Microtroops were miniature soldiers that could be deployed onto the field where they could be sent into battle engagements or send on recon missions. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #4)

Among their creations was a machine able to teach them alien languages and a species entire history within seconds. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #4) The Galactic Ranger Forces engineering division on-board ships were advanced enough to create sophisticated robot duplicates of people. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #10)

Rangers had strange yet effective weapons such as the hand-held Sun Guns that blasted such intense heats that it incinerated enemies in its path. Another infantry armament was the Baby H that were bazookas which fired small hydrogen bombs that utilised fission and radioactivity against their foe. Among the more powerful weapons in their arsenal was the world-killer that were powerful warheads able to destroy entire planets. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #1)

One type of vessel used by the Galactic Rangers were the Dreadnaughts. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #8) These mighty battle wagons were armed with an array of weapons including a mega-battery. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #9) It could fire volleys of restraini-gas that when hit a target it could place them in a hold. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #10) Starships were able to achieve interstellar travel by accessing hyperspace. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #8) A powerful star-engine was responsible for giving these ships their power to travel through space. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #10)

It maintained huge monitoring stations that were located on the edges of the known universe that reported their findings back to headquarters. These stations were noted to be crewed by 200 armed Ranger personnel. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #8)

• Mister Mind : a highly intelligent being inside a life-sustaining unit who was from a species that was as mysterious as the cosmos and was a living miracle who served as navigator on-board the Tiger. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #1) He was part of the Encephaloes who were noted to be telepaths in addition to their high intelligence. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #7)
• Giras : a Zaranite who served as a bodyguard to a recruitment officer. (Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers v1 #7)
