Garen Crownguard was a male human who lived in the kingdom of Demacia in the world of Runeterra.

Personality and attributes
In appearance, Garen was a male of the human race who possessed a stern and disciplined countenance. He had a strong, square jawline, fair skin, and short-cropped, neat dark hair that sat beneath his heavy helm. His physical build was exceptionally massive and muscular, featuring broad shoulders and a barrel-shaped chest that conveyed immense physical power and durability. He was encased in a suit of heavy plate armour crafted from polished steel and gold, which featured oversized, layered pauldrons that extended upward to protect his neck. His torso was protected by a thick breastplate emblazoned with the regal imagery of his homeland, and his limbs were fully enclosed in segmented greaves and gauntlets. He wore a long, flowing royal blue cape that was fastened to his shoulders, draping down to his calves and contrasting with the metallic silver and gold of his plating. The ensemble was completed by a sturdy leather belt with a heavy buckle and thick-soled sabatons, presenting the image of a high-ranking, decorated soldier prepared for front-line heavy infantry engagement. Such was his reputation that he came to be known as the Might of Demacia.
His aunt was Tianna Crownguard who was the High Marshal in Demacia. Garen's younger sister was Luxanna Crownguard who idolised her brother.

He wielded a massive two-handed broadsword with exceptional skill, using its weight to deliver powerful overhead strikes and wide, sweeping slashes. He exhibited the ability to enter a state of heightened determination, which allowed him to break free from movement-impairing effects and gain a temporary burst of speed to close the distance with his targets. His primary offensive maneuver involved spinning his body and sword rapidly in a continuous circle, creating a whirlwind of steel that damaged all nearby enemies. Defensively, he possessed the capability to harden his resolve, temporarily increasing his resistance to incoming physical and magical damage. Furthermore, he could call upon a powerful execution strike, manifesting a colossal, ethereal blade that fell from the sky to strike down a single opponent with massive force. Outside of active combat, he showed a remarkable regenerative capacity, allowing his wounds to heal at an accelerated rate when he avoided taking damage for a short period.
He came to lead the Dauntless Vanguard that were an elite order of Demacian warriors who handled the nation's most dangerous foes and threats beyond the kingdom's borders. As Demacia's most prestigious battalion, the Vanguard at full strength numbered over two thousand soldiers among its ranks.
